Northern Nigeria, with its deeply ingrained patriarchal traditions, has been identified as a crucial area in the quest for gender equality within the media industry. This training program is seen as a pivotal step toward achieving this goal.

During the launch event, prominent figures delivered speeches highlighting the significance of the initiative. Robert Gabor, the U.S. Embassy Media Attaché, and Aishah Gambari, Senior Information Specialist, both emphasized the importance of empowering women in journalism.
