Tinubu Approves Adedeji as Acting FIRS Chairman, Orders Nami’s Retirement

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Zaccheus Adedeji as the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). This development coincides with the impending commencement of terminal leave for the former chairman, Muhammed Nami.

In an official statement released by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, it was stated, “Hon. Zaccheus Adedeji is hereby appointed in acting capacity for 90 days before his subsequent confirmation as the substantive Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service for a term of four years in the first instance.”

President Tinubu has instructed Mr Muhammad Nami, the former FIRS Chairman, who held the position since December 2019, to promptly commence a three-month pre-retirement leave in accordance with Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243. This leave will ultimately lead to his retirement from service on December 8, 2023.
