The Labour Party deputy governorship candidate in Lagos State, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi has called on elected National Assembly lawmakers to zone the Senate presidency and Speakership seats to women.
Oyefusi made the call on Monday while speaking on political participation in Lagos, adding that with women occupying the seats, the federal legislature would bring about an inclusive government in the country.
In her words, “I am using this opportunity to call on all elected lawmakers to zone the Speaker and Senate President positions to the female gender.

“This will substantiate the reality of running an inclusive government. Such action will be described as a show of peace and understanding.”
She further urged politicians to embrace the verdict on the implementation of the national gender policy granted in favour of Nigerian women by Honourable Justice Donatus Okorowo of the Federal High Court.
The 10th National Assembly would be inaugurated next month after the swearing-in of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29.
