Nigeria @63: Anambra Speaker urges Nigerians to uphold nation’s heroes legacies

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze, has called on Nigerians to embrace the values of unity, love, and understanding to honour the legacy of the nation’s heroes.

Udeze made the call in Awka on Sunday to mark Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary.

He said there was a need to reflect on the selfless sacrifices made by the forefathers and the visionary leaders who fought for the nation’s independence.

According to him, the contributions of visionary leaders shaped the fabric of the nation, and it is a collective responsibility of every Nigerian to honour their legacy.

“As we celebrate Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary, I am filled with gratitude for the enduring spirit of our great nation.

“I believe in the resilience and strength of our people. Together, we can restore our country’s image, unity, peace and economy.

“Let us embrace the values of unity, love, and understanding that bind us as one nation for a brighter future for generations to come.

“I urge our political leaders to prioritize the well-being of the masses by formulating policies that benefit everyone,” he said.

The speaker urged government and private security operatives to work together to safeguard the lives and property of the people and achieve lasting security.

“In the spirit of unity, let us pray for God’s guidance and intervention in the face of our challenges.

“Together, with faith and determination, we can overcome any obstacle and build a prosperous and harmonious nation.”

Udeze also urged residents to support Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s vision for the state as he implements policies for the collective progress of all.
