The Teranga Lions won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final on Sunday night, defeating Egypt 4-2 on penalties.
The 2021 AFCON final was played at the Paul Biya Stadium, Olembé, in Cameroon.
After 120 minutes, both Senegal and Egypt had failed to score, resulting in a 0-0 draw.
Senegal, however, defeated Egypt on penalties to win their first AFCON.
Senegal had previously lost two AFCON finals, the most recent of which was in 2019, when they were defeated by Algeria in the final.
