WEF’s Davos Agenda 2022: Osinbajo, Okonjo-Iweala, others to deliver addresses

The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, and the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, among other world leaders have been selected to speak at the Davos Agenda 2022.

The Davos Agenda 2022, which is organised by the World Economic Forum (WEF), is a virtual scheduled to take place between January 17 and 21, 2022.

According to a statement on WEF’s website, Osinbajo, alongside other world leaders, would deliver a “State of the World” Special Address at the event, while Okonjo-Iweala is among the other speakers.

Some of the world leaders delivering the “State of the World” Special Addresses include the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi; Prime Minister of Japan, Kishida Fumio; President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo; Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett; Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, among others.

Other speakers also include the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame; the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus; Vice-President of the United States (1993-2001) and Chairman and Co-Founder, Generation Investment Management, Al Gore; Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health of the United States of America, Anthony S. Fauci, among others.

WEF noted that the Davos Agenda 2022 virtual event will “mark the launch of several Forum initiatives including efforts to accelerate the race to net-zero emissions, ensure the economic opportunity of nature-positive solutions, create cyber resilience, strengthen global value chains, build economies in fragile markets through humanitarian investing, bridge the vaccine manufacturing gap and use data solutions to prepare for the next pandemic.”
