TETFund Eliminates Vendor Contracts, Prioritizes Academic Excellence
In a recent interview, the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Sonny Echono, unveiled a significant shift in the agency’s approach towards academic and professional staff training interventions. Echono emphasized the elimination of vendor contracts, highlighting the agency’s commitment to academic excellence and cost-effectiveness.
Addressing concerns raised by an online news platform regarding alleged questionable contracts amounting to N7.6 billion, Echono clarified that TETFund has embraced Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) since 2016 for academic and professional training programs. He underscored the agency’s focus on sponsoring individuals for postdoctoral studies, academic degrees, and professional certifications aimed at enhancing employability.
