President Tinubu Mourns Nigeria’s First Female Army General

President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Kale family, the Nigerian Army, and the medical community in Nigeria following the demise of Major-General Aderonke Kale (retired), mni, the country’s pioneering female Major-General and the inaugural female Commander of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps.

Major-General Kale, who retired from the Nigerian Army in 1997, passed away at the age of 84.

In a statement released by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu acknowledged Major-General Kale as a trailblazer and expressed deep sorrow over her passing, considering it a significant loss to the nation.

“Major-General Aderonke Kale was a pioneer in her field. She embodied the courage, professionalism, capacity, and resilience of the Nigerian woman. She thrived and conquered where many feared to tread. She was a towering figure; an inimitable role model,” the President said.

President Tinubu offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Major-General Kale’s soul and urged her grieving family to find solace in the unparalleled legacy she leaves behind.

Major-General Kale, in addition to her groundbreaking military career, was recognized with numerous awards for her contributions to the field of medicine. She also distinguished herself as a philanthropist, positively impacting the lives of many.
