Police arrest two brothers for allegedly defiling two-year-old twins
By Derrick Bangura
Two boys, aged 16 and 19, from the same parents, were detained in Port Harcourt by members of the Puff Ader tactical team of the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly defiling two-year-old twins.
The mother of the twins, Mrs Achinihu Clement, who made the disclosure on Tuesday, called for justice to be served.
Mrs Clement explained that while dressing her son on the 10th of January, she noticed he could not sit properly.
Upon interrogation, the baby said the 16-year-old brother-in-law who lives with her was the person who touched his anus.
Mrs Clement said she immediately took the boy and his twin sister to the hospital for examination.
It was at the hospital she discovered that the hymen of the daughter had been broken.
“Three doctors and two nurses asked the girl who touched her bum by herself, and she said the 19-year-old,” Mrs Clement claimed.
“That’s when I realized my children’s innocence had been invaded, and I burst into tears.” As a result, I had to report the incident to the tactical unit of Operation Puff Ader. I’m relieved that they’ve been re-arrested because I want justice to be served.”

Meanwhile, a rights group, the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, said it will see the case through to its end, praising River State Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday, for guaranteeing the suspects’ re-arrest.
However, Charles Edward, a lawyer with the human rights advocacy group, has urged for a thorough inquiry into the incident to determine the suspects’ guilt.
According to reports, the suspects have been taken to the police headquarters’ human rights division on Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.
