The Police on Friday, arraigned one Omoyele Awosika, 49, in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a Sienna car worth N7.8 million.
Awosika, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy and theft.
The Prosecutor, ASP Sikiru Ibrahim, told the court that Awosika committed the offences on January 19, in the Ile Marun area of Ibadan.
Ibrahim alleged that the defendant fraudulently converted proceeds from the sale of the Sienna 2012 model, belonging to one Mrs Roseline Afolayanka, to his personal use.
He said he was supposed to sell the car and remit the proceeds to the owner, but failed to do so.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Awosika, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs S. A Adesina, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N2 million, and two sureties in like sum.
Adesina ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relation to the defendant.
She then adjourned the case until July 21, for further hearing.
