Nwadinobi reappointed as President of MWIA

Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi, the President of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA), has been reappointed for a second tenure of three years.

Information about the reappointment is contained in a statement she issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

She stated that the reappointment was made during the 32nd International Congress of the MWIA convened in Taipei, Taiwan from June 24 to June 26.

She added that the congress, which was opened by the President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen, approved the composition of its Executive Committee for the 2022-2025 Triennium, with Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi as President.

Thereafter, Nwadinobi unveiled the theme for the 2022/2025 triennium as: “One Humanity: Health Solutions Through Our Partnerships.’’

Founded in 1919 in New York, MWIA is an international non-governmental organisation comprising female doctors and dentists.

Nwadinobi, who led the organisation from 2019 to date will start her second three-year tenure as the president of the association.

She is a renowned development practitioner and public speaker on health, women, peace and security, prevention of violence against women and girls, and human rights.
