Nnamdi Kanu appears in court as trial resumes

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lead counsel to the detained self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has confirmed that his client is in court to face trial in the treasonable felony charges preferred against him by the Federal Government.

The self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has appeared before the Federal High Court, Abuja for the continuation of his trial over alleged treasonable felony charges preferred against him by the Federal Government.

The IPOB leader’s lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, disclosed this to newsmen at the premises of the court.

Mr Kanu was ferried into the court premises under a heavy security convoy at exactly 8 am.

Recall that the Federal Government had filed amended seven-count charges against the detained IPOB leader.

The amended charges, which were filed by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, border on treasonable felony and Kanu’s alleged involvement in acts of terrorism.
