The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) on Friday inaugurated Evergreen Energy Limited, signalling the commencement of the Calabar depot operations.
The Regional Coordinator of NMDPRA, South-South, Mr George Ene-Ita, led his team of officials to perform the inauguration of the facility on behalf of the Authority on Friday in Calabar.
Ene-Ita said that with the inauguration of the facility, the depot was now ready to begin full operations in the area, and urged the management of the facility to maintain high safety standards within their facility.
According to reports, the facility was first licensed in 2019, but has remained non-functional ever since.
NAN also reports that the depot is expecting its first cargo vessel receipt soon.
