Nigerian Govt releases programmes to mark Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government of Nigeria on Wednesday unveiled the schedule of events for the 62nd anniversary of the nation’s independence.

The events will begin on Thursday with a news conference at the National Press Center in Abuja, according to a statement from Joe Mutah, the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Chief Press Secretary.

He announced that there would be a church service on Sunday at the National Christian Centre in the Central Business District of Abuja.

On September 29, Special Juma’at prayers will be held at the National Mosque in Abuja, and a public lecture will also be held at the State House Conference Hall.

On October 1, a military parade would start at 10 am at Eagle Square, and a presidential broadcast would conclude the remembrance.
