The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Nigeria Football Federation have jointly purchased 20,000 tickets to give to fans who wish to support the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 playoff final battle against the Black Stars of Ghana in a bold move to fill the stands of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium and ensure high-decibel support for the Super Eagles.

Hon. Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, made the announcement on Sunday evening after a meeting of the organizing committee, which includes officials from the NFF.
“We will purchase 20,000 tickets and distribute them to supporters at specific locations on Monday and Tuesday morning.” We want to ensure that the Super Eagles receive the most support possible by filling the stadium.

“The NFF did an excellent job in securing the Moshood Abiola National Stadium’s maximum capacity for the match.” If you consider the efforts that the ticket rights holder, Africa Independent Television, has been doing on their own, this move will ensure us a full house,” stated Hon. Sunday Dare.

Mallam Shehu Dikko, NFF 2nd Vice President, added that both the Ministry and the NFF think the Super Eagles will secure their seventh FIFA World Cup finals ticket on Tuesday evening if the stadium is packed.
“This is a huge match, and we need all of the help we can get for our squad.” The players, like the Ghanaians in Kumasi, have voiced a wish for a packed house. We’d want to express our gratitude to the Ministry for beginning this initiative.”

After a scoreless first 90 minutes in Kumasi on Friday, Nigeria and Ghana meet at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday evening in what is likely to be the most anticipated and potentially explosive contest of the two countries’ 71-year, 58-match rivalry.
