New Headquarters Edifice Approved for Nigerian Army Armoured Corps

In line with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, focused on Sound Administration and Operational Effectiveness, significant strides have been taken to enhance the combat readiness and welfare of Nigerian Army (NA) troops.

As part of these efforts, COAS General Lagbaja has given the green light for the construction of a new, modern Headquarters edifice for the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps at Obienu Barracks, Bauchi.

During a brief ceremony on October 13, 2023, marking the commencement of construction, Major General Mohammed Sani Ahmed, Commander of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, expressed gratitude to General Lagbaja for his visionary leadership and for championing this project.

He affirmed the Corps’ commitment to its pivotal role in decision-making within the military and believed the project would serve as a source of inspiration for officers and soldiers.

Architect Abubakar Dauda, the project engineer from MS ZAHEERA multi-project LTD, assured that the construction would be completed within the specified six-month timeframe. He pledged meticulous execution, utilizing top-grade building materials in accordance with global standards. Architect Abubakar also extended appreciation to the Army Headquarters for their prompt allocation of necessary funds.

The event was attended by Brigadier General AGL Haruna, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, Lieutenant Colonel LJ Asuquo, Deputy Chief of Staff Logistics, and representatives from MS ZAHEERA multi-project LTD.
