By Matthew Eloyi – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, on Wednesday in Lafia urged party members nationwide to support the new APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu.

The chapter called for similar support for all members of the National Working Committee elected at the party’s national convention of March 26.

Dr John Mamman, Chairman of the party in the state, made the call in a statement issued to newsmen.

Mamman said support of the new executives would promote peace in the party and ensure its victory at the 2023 general elections.

“The just-concluded national convention of the party was peaceful and it further demonstrated the unity and strength of the party.

“The emergence of the National Working Committee by consensus was a signal of the party’s victory in 2023 and beyond,’’ he stated.

Mamman appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari, APC governors, stakeholders and delegates for ensuring the success of the national convention.

He congratulated Adamu and other NWC members on their emergence and urged them to unite the party.

The state APC chairman commended the maturity displayed by all aspirants who stepped down to pave way for consensus.

He stated that the aspirants, including Sen. Umaru-Tanko Almakura, former governor of Adamu’s home Nasarawa State, showed deep commitment to the unity and progress of APC.

Almakura was one of the contenders for the national chairmanship position that stepped down for Adamu to emerge victorious.

Mamman urged people of the state to continue to support President Buhari and Nasarawa State’s Gov. Abdullahi Sule, to succeed.
