Let sleeping dogs lie: Banky on Wizkid

Banky, while on an interview with Ebuka, made comments regarding his relationship with former EME signee and one of the biggest artists on the continent right now, Wizkid.
The comments include a suggestion of a contract breach. Banky claimed he had an initial 5-album record deal with Starboy and Wizkid reneged on the contract after only 2 albums.
In an interview during the period of Wizzy’s exit from EME, Wizzy himself made claims that he left the label without a dime. There have also been speculations that Wiz had to relinquish his album royalties to EME.
Details of the initial contract make Banky look even darker. He took up 50% of the total of any deal Wizkid made including an endorsement deal of over $600k from Pepsi, deals on daily gigs and album royalties. Wiz took only 25% while his former manager took the rest 25%.
In the interview, Banky only mentioned his side of the story and didn’t mention his huge percentage from Wiz’s deals of course. His wife concurred to every word he said. It was sick.
Wiz, in his usual stealth nature, hasn’t made any comment, except a cryptic ‘LOL’. Music producer Samklef, however, hasn’t been quiet, he made claims in support of Wiz and around his own royalties from Wiz’s two albums under EME – Superstar and Ayo.
So what’s the verdict? Banky should never have said anything. It’s been a while and nobody really remembered what happened till he reminded everybody.
And what’s the point? Does he actually need money for his political ambition? Wizkid recently won a million dollar gig with Rolling stone Toronto. No African artist has ever received as much.

Although all thanks goes to EME for accepting Wiz after several labels including Mo Hits records had rejected him, Banky was actually ripping the Starboy off. Simple.
