Lawyers commend Osinbajo for heeding Nigerians call to contest for President

A group of lawyers under the aegis of Progressive Lawyers for Osinbajo have commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for admitting that he would be disappointing millions of Nigerians if he refused to heed their call to contest the 2023 Presidential election.

The Convener, Progressive Lawyers, Mr Kayode Ajulo, made the commendation in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to Ajulo, due to the urgency of making Nigeria great, Nigerians cannot afford to have a novice as their next President, and Osinbajo remains the greatest choice for the job.

He claimed that anyone other than Osinbajo would have to spend an additional two years learning the fundamentals of governing, and that Nigeria could not afford to go down that road.

According to him, unlike other aspirants, Osinbajo has learned through the rope for seven years and will serve the country well if he is permitted to continue President Muhammadu Buhari’s wonderful policies.

Many Nigerians, he claimed, have pledged to approach progressive lawyers and take Osinbajo to court if he refuses to run for President of the country.

On April 15, Osinbajo paid a visit to Akure, the capital of Ondo State, where he reminded some members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) that failing to serve the country would be a betrayal.

Ajulo said that the vice president should be commended for throwing his hat in the ring and expressing his readiness to contest the 2023 presidential election.

He said Progressive Lawyers also shared the feelings of the Vice President that it would amount to an act of betrayal to the country if he failed to serve Nigeria.

He described Osinbajo as as a leader that had won the heart of many Nigerians, a bridge builder between the old and the young with the requisite strength and competence to take Nigeria to the promise land.
