Kante recovers from injury, to resume training ahead of Arsenal clash

Chelsea FC have been handed a significant injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on August 22.

Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, confirmed that midfielder, N’Golo Kante, would return to the Blues training this week and should be available for selection ahead of Arsenal clash after injury ruled him out for Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

The France international was absent as Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, thanks to goals from Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic and Trevoh Chalobah.

Kante was taken off midway through the second half of Chelsea’s Super Cup victory over Villarreal last week.

“He felt it in here warm-up to the Super Cup match against Villarreal and he played a little bit with pain, overcame it,” Tuchel was quoted by Football London as saying.

“But yesterday, he felt it again and we decided to take responsibility and take him out so as not to take any risks.

“N’Golo should be back in the middle of the week and be ready for Arsenal.”
