Kaduna: Bandits kill two, kidnap four others in fresh attack

In a tragic incident in the early hours of Friday, bandits struck at the Dogon Noma-Unguwan Gamu Community, located in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the loss of two lives and the abduction of four individuals.

Reports indicate that the assailants, whose identities and numbers remain unconfirmed, unleashed a wave of violence upon the community. Numerous residents were left injured as a result of the indiscriminate gunfire.

While the state police have yet to officially confirm the attack, a community leader from Kufana, Musa Yaro, provided details of the incident. According to Yaro, the bandits launched their assault on the unsuspecting community, taking two lives in the process—Bala Laya and Gimbiya Coaster. Additionally, they abducted three individuals identified as Set Alkali, Saviour Christopher, and Sico Nicholas.

The community of Kajuru Local Government Area has been plagued by a recurring wave of bandit attacks for several years. This unfortunate incident is yet another grim reminder of the ongoing insecurity in the region.

The area has faced numerous challenges, with one of the deadliest attacks occurring on March 11, 2019. During that horrifying episode, 52 people lost their lives, over 200 houses were reduced to ashes, and countless residents were displaced from their homes by the marauding attackers.
