Israeli Army Discovers Around 1,500 Bodies of Hamas Militants near Gaza Strip

Approximately 1,500 bodies of Hamas fighters have been discovered in Israel around the Gaza Strip, announced military spokesman Richard Hecht on Tuesday. This revelation comes amid intense Israeli air strikes on the Palestinian enclave.

“Since last night we know that no one came in .. but infiltrations can still happen,” cautioned Hecht, while also stating that security forces have regained control over much of the border with Gaza. The evacuation of communities around the border is nearly complete, he added.

The military has deployed 35 battalions to the border area, Hecht informed. He further mentioned ongoing efforts to establish infrastructure for future operations.

In a devastating turn of events, Hamas militants breached the border fence amidst a barrage of rocket fire on Saturday morning, resulting in the tragic loss of more than 900 lives inside Israel. In response, Israel has launched a large-scale air and artillery assault on Hamas targets within the Gaza Strip, resulting in a reported death toll of at least 687 in the coastal enclave.

Early on Tuesday, the Israeli military carried out strikes on what they identified as Hamas targets in Gaza, focusing particularly on the Rimal neighbourhood and the southern city of Khan Yunis.
