Governor Fintiri tasks Commissioners on zero tolerance for corruption

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has warned government officials on engaging in unwholesome activities that has the tendency to spur them into engaging in corruption while discharging their official functions.

The governor made the call while delivering a key note address at a two day retreat organized by the Adamwa State Government in collaboration with USAID NIGERIA and GIZ for commissioners and permanent secretaries at the AUN Hotel in Yola.

Governor Fintiri said the theme of the retreat which is captioned ” Consolidating on good governance: issues and perspectives for Adamawa State ” is not only apt but a testament that his government has performed above expection to the point where it attracted international rating.

The governor further reiterated his zero tolerance for corruption. He vowed to penalize government officials found wanting in violating the directive. He called on them to be prudent in the management of state resources.

Governor Fintiri enjoined participants of the retreat to use the avenue to further equipt themselves with core values such as transparency, accountability, justice, fairness, selflessness, humility, discipline, forgiveness, reconciliation, integration, peace and unity for the benefit of the state.

The retreat aims to improve the capacity of participants to operate within the stipulated framework of the laid down 8 point agenda of the Fintiri led administration with a view to enhancing potentials of staff in ministries, departments and agencies so as to consolidate and add value to Adamawa State.

The Secretary to the State Government Hon Auwal Tukur welcomed all to the event and appeallled to them to feel at home.

The Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Dr Edgar Amos appreciated participants and collaborating partners. He stressed that the retreat will afford them the opportunity to improve themselves for the benefit of the state
