Gov Inuwa congratulates Tinubu, says APC will win governorship election in Gombe

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gomber State has congratulated Nigeria’s President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu on his victory at the just concluded presidential elections in the country.

Inuwa, who expressed happiness over the outcome of the Feb. 25 Presidential and National Assembly (NASS) polls in an interview with our correspondents in Gombe on Wednesday, said, “the victory is not for APC or Nigeria alone but for Africa,” and by extension, for democracy.

When asked about his expectation in the forthcoming governorship election in the state given that some of his party members in the state who contested in the National Assembly election on Saturday lost to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the governor said even though he was surprised at the outcome of the election, he still believed that his party would record victory in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

“I am confident because we have the capacity, we have the tenacity and our people are really determined, and we have realized the mistakes we made in the last election and we shall make them up, especially with the encouragement and the will that has developed in our people after the success at the national level,” he said.

Gov Inuwa also backed Tinubu’s call for national unity, adding the challenges faced during the presidential election were an eye-opener for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and that there would an improvement in subsequent elections.

He expressed confidence that the president-elect would fast-track the realization of Kolmani Oil for the benefit of the state and the country at large.
