FRSC promotes 284 officers, sanctions 7 others

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, has approved the promotion of 284 officers and sanctioned seven others.

According to a report by Daily Independent, the sanction was a result of varying offenses the officers committed in the service.

A statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, revealed that 62 Assistant Corps Commanders were promoted to the rank of Deputy Corps Commander, 44 Chief Route Commanders to the rank of Assistant Corps Commander,

Others promoted were, 50 Superintendent Route Commanders to the rank of Chief Route Commander, and 128 Route Commanders got elevated to the rank of Superintendent Route Commanders.

According to the statement, the promotion takes effect from July.

The FRSC Chairman, Bukhari Bello encouraged the promoted Officers to dedicate themselves to achieving the corporate mission of the Corps which is to create a safer motoring environment and stop road accidents in the country.

The chairman, however, expressed delight over the height of transparency and objectivity that ushered in the whole process.

Mr Bello explained that the promotion exercise is a practice to reward excellence, diligence, and hard work which is in line with the administrative philosophy of the present leadership.
