Fintiri donates N5m to victims of Yola market inferno

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Tuesday donated the sum of five million naira to victims of Yola market Inferno.

The Governor made the donation when he visited the market to commiserate with the market community over the incident that he described as unfortunate.

He said each of the ten shop victims will be assisted with five hundred thousand naira to enable them to recover losses and continue with their businesses.

Fintiri added that his administration will also build the market to a modern standard to boost the economy of the state.

He called on the market community to extend the brotherliness that existed among them during the disaster and urged them to continue to be watchful of their businesses.

Earlier in his remarks, the Vice Chairman of Yola South Local Government Area Council, Mr Nathaniel Pagiel thanked the state government for its timely intervention to contain the fire.

He disclosed that the local government area council has since constituted a committee to unravel the cause of the inferno for necessary action.

The fire disaster which broke out at past nine, Monday night has engulfed ten shops of provisions and grains, destroying goods worth million of naira.
