By Matthew Eloyi – Following the Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, Austin Eguavoen has stepped down as Super Eagles Head Coach.
According to a report by Brila FM, Eguavoen has submitted an official resignation letter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Eguavoen will now return to his post as Technical Director of all national teams, according to the Sports radio.
However, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has yet to issue an official statement.
Recall that two days before the first leg of the World Cup play-off against Ghana, the NFF granted Eguavoen a two-year contract.
It is now evident that the Super Eagles will have a new coach in the near future. Meanwhile, Nigerians are demanding that the football federation be completely overhauled.
