The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has vowed to continue its fight against Internet fraudsters, many of whom it says are incorporating spiritual elements into their criminal activities.

In Nigerian slang, this group of young people is known as the Yahoo-boys, and they scam both Nigerians and foreigners through different online tricks.

The threat has expanded to the point where the EFCC has had to focus its efforts in recent years on apprehending and prosecuting suspects.

Many of the suspects have been apprehended by the EFCC, who have paraded them with the charms they have been captured with throughout the years. Some have been fingered in ritual killings.

However, the EFCC, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, stated that it would not be business as usual for anyone caught in such an act.

“Yahoo boys now going spiritual even doing money ritual and making it a new usual we will come for those individuals, tell them it won’t be business as usual.

“No going back on the onslaught against yahoo-yahoo or yahoo-plus, whatever nomenclature. Give up, or give in. The Eagle will get you anytime, anywhere,” the post read.
