The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja Zonal Command, has arrested Afolabi Samad, the owner of a ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Academy’ in Abuja.
The 24-year-old was arrested with 16 of his trainees in a sting operation on Thursday. The teenagers, aged 18 to 27, were apprehended at their hideout in Peace Court Estate, Lokogoma, an Abuja suburb.
The purported academy’s owner hired the three-bedroom flat for three million Naira to teach his apprentices about cyber-fraud for undisclosed fees.
Laptops, phones, charms, and two vehicles, a Lexus RX350 and a Toyota Highlander, were among the things confiscated from the suspects.
In a statement, the EFCC stated that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged as soon as possible.
