Court sentences man to 3 years imprisonment for stealing kitchen sink
A Karu Grade I Area Court in Abuja on Tuesday sentenced a 24-year-old man, Emmanuel Elom to three years imprisonment for stealing a kitchen sink from a hotel.
The judge, Umar Mayana, however, gave the convict an option of N100,000 fine and warned him to desist from committing crimes.
The convict had pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal trespass and theft but begged for mercy.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Olarewaju Osho told the court that the convict was arrested and taken to the Jikwoyi police station on Nov. 28, 2022 by Mr Victor Uranta of Jikwoyi, Abuja.
Osho said the convict also had one cutlass and gas burner and when interrogated, he said the items were for sale.
He added that during police investigation the convict admitted to having trespassed into “Bencalic Hotel” and stealing the items.
The offence, he said, is punishable under sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
