Maj.-Gen. Bamidele Alabi, Commandant of the Army War College of Nigeria (AWCN), led participants of the institution’s Course 6/2022 on a two-day tour of strategic military establishments in Abuja.

Maj. Muhammed Maidawa, the College Public Relations Officer, said in a statement on Friday that the excursion was part of the training.

The tour began with a stop at the Defence Headquarters Joint Operations Centre, followed by stops at the Nigerian Army Operations Centre, the Navy, and the Air Force Headquarters, according to Maidawa.

The team also paid visits to the Defense Space Administration (DSA), Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited, Land Forces Simulation Centre Nigeria, and the Defence Research and Development Bureau, according to him.

According to him, the tour mostly provided participants with an understanding of how military installations operate.

According to Maidawa, the tour included 73 participants from the navy and air force, as well as ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), who held the levels of Lieutenant-Colonel and Colonel and their equivalents.

Some of the training participants came from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gambia, Liberia, and Rwanda, he said.
