Apostle Osayi Calls for Quarantine of Overzealous Prosperity Preachers in Nigeria
Founder and President of the Remnant Christian Network, Apostle Arome Israel Osayi, has voiced concerns about the prevalence of prosperity-focused messages among Nigerian preachers, suggesting that some deserve to be “quarantined” for an extended period to undergo purging.
In a recently surfaced online message, the cleric emphasized that the message of prosperity should not take precedence and that true prosperity stems from alignment with God. Osayi even went so far as to claim he had a list of preachers who should be quarantined for at least five years.
“If the message of prosperity becomes a message that is in your front burner, you’re not useful to God,” he asserted, urging caution among listeners about the type of prosperity messages they absorb from preachers. Osayi contended that Jesus Christ did not call certain individuals who now hide behind the prosperity message to attract crowds.

“We need to be careful with the kind of prosperity message we preach. We have preachers Jesus did not call, but hiding under the message of prosperity, and you crowd trooping in there in order to tap from the prosperity,” he warned.
Osayi maintained that prosperity is a consequence of alignment with God, stressing the need to prioritize seeking the kingdom of God and following His commandments for prosperity to manifest.
“As powerful as the message of prosperity is, it is the consequence of alignment with God. Your alignment with kingdom things makes you eligible for kingdom support. You are not born to receive kingdom support if your life is not adequately aligned with the kingdom of God, and doing what God wants us to do is the secret of prosperity,” Apostle Osayi added.
The prosperity gospel, characterized by the belief that faith, positive thoughts, declarations, and church donations lead to health, wealth, and happiness, has been influential in Christianity since the early 20th century. Osayi’s remarks highlight the ongoing debate surrounding the impact of prosperity teachings in Nigerian churches and the broader Christian community.
