APC Defection: Matawalle gives deputy stern warning
The Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has warned his deputy, Mahdi Aliyu, against disrespecting him.
According to The Independent, the gap between Mr Matawalle and his deputy after the governors defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC, seems to have widened.
Mr Aliyu who refused to follow Matawalle to APC recently addressed a rally of the PDP, to reaffirm his loyalty to the party.
The State House of Assembly had invited Mr Aliyu to explain why he held the rally without considering the current security situation in the State, which also meant disrespect, according to them, of advice by the security agencies in the state.
On his part, Mr Matawalle, told the Hausa Service of Deutsch Welle on Saturday, that he was getting fed up with Me Aliyu’s ‘disrespectful attitude’.
He said ” I won’t join issues with him. But if he dares me, I will give him the treatment he deserves.”
There are, however, speculations that the House of Assembly’s summons may be the first step by the legislative arm towards impeaching Mr Aliyu.
