2023: Northern group urges Emefiele to contest presidency

By Ibrahim Abubakar – A group, Arewa Alliance has started canvassing for the southeastern presidency in 2023.

The group said the only way the region could feel safe being part of the country is by producing next president to heal wound earned in the 30-month civil war and the agitation for Biafran Republic.

Speaking at a press briefing in Yola, the leader of the group with membership across the 19 Northern States and beyond urged the Central Bank Governor, Chief Godwin Emefiele to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Arewa Alliance argued that his emergence will further unite Nigerians.

Mr Dauda kushu , convener of the Arewa Alliance for Emefiele for president 2023,said Emefiele has positioned himself as a vision-driven and target-focus leader who would help the youths unleash their creative talents, Innovation, energies and resourcefulness that will make them better citizens and sterling ambassadors beyond the shore of the country.

While other speakers at the occasion gave reason for their action noting that Emefiele has demonstrated the ability to turn the country’s fortunes around and build on the foundation created by president Muhammadu Buhari.
