APC chieftain urges Benue voters to replicate presidential victory guber election
Following the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Benue State, a former presidential aspirant on the APC platform, Mr Moses Ayom, has appealed to Benue residents to replicate the victory in the governorship election on March 11.
Ayom made the appeal while inaugurating the Independent Campaign Council (ICC) in support of Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia for governor of the state in Makurdi.
In his words, “I commend the people of Benue, especially those from the Benue North East Senatorial District, for playing a major role in APC’s ‘political earthquake’ which consumed other parties.
“The landslide victory was achieved largely due to the pragmatic leadership style of Sen. George Akume, the leader of the party in the state.
“I appeal that you repeat the same during the Governorship and State Assembly polls by voting for Rev Fr Alia, to usher in, the desired Benue where people’s interest will occupy the centre stage.”
He said that it was his utmost desire to ensure that Alia emerged victorious with a landslide victory during the governorship election.
“This is the reason why I came up with the ICC to canvass support for Alia and all APC candidates, ahead of the mega gubernatorial campaign rallies which would hold in the three senatorial districts,” he added.
He assured that he was poised to work for the overwhelming success of the party in the last round of the general elections so that the state would witness a turnaround in its political history.
He further congratulated the President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu, on his victory and appealed to him to support the emergence of someone from the Middle Belt to succeed him as Nigeria’s President at the end of his eight years in office.

Ondo 2024: Odu confident of landslide victory for APC
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Princess Oladunni Odu, has expressed confidence in Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the party’s candidate, emerging victorious in the Nov. 16 governorship poll in the state.
Odu, the first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG), who served under late Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Okitipupa on Tuesday, that the electorate in the state would vote Progressives to stay with the ruling party at the centre.
The APC chieftain said that the party’s women forum in the state was ready for the governoship poll and had mobilised support for the ruling party ahead of Saturday’s poll.
” In Nigeria of today, the women folk play active role in participatory democracy and as strong supporters in the home front.
“The state APC women have canvassed in their homes and neighbourhood for the party, because women population at anytime is always more.
“So, the backing of the women will go a long way to shore up the victory margin of APC at the off cycle governorship election,” Odu said.
The APC chieftain said that there was no chance for any of the other oposition parties to claim victory, stressing “none of them has the leverage of APC”.
She said that in the election in Edo, APC stepped up its game and ousted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in power.
Odu said that APC had established a formidable foundation for the economic development and political stability of the state under late Gov. Akeredolu, adding “his successor, Aiyedatiwa, has followed in the same stride.”
She appealed to the electorate in the state to turn out enmasse and cast their votes for APC in Saturday’s election in order for the government to consolidate on its programmes and the progress made in the state.
