Wizkid, Omah Lay, Tiwa Savage, others nominated for NAACP Image Awards

Nigerian music superstars, Wizkid, Omah Lay, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy, and Kidi were on Tuesday night nominated for the NAACP Image Awards in Outstanding International Song category, organised by the National Association for Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP).

Wizkid was nominated for his song “Essence”, featuring Tems and Justin Bieber, while Fireboy DML was nominated for his hit song, “Peru”.

In the same vein, Tiwa Savage’s hit track, “Somebody’s Son”, featuring Brandy, got her the nomination, while Kidi and Omah Lay were nominated for their songs, “Touch it”, and “understand”, respectively.

The nomination was announced on Tuesday in a virtual event on NAACP’s Instagram channel which was hosted by actress Kyla Pratt, Black-ish actor, singer Tinashe and Marcus Scribner.

Winners of the award will be announced during a two-hour live television special, which will be hosted by seven-time NAACP Image Awards winner, Anthony Anderson, airing on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on BET.
