Anxiety as Dana Air, bound for Lagos, makes an Emergency Landing

By Derrick Bangura.

At 2:25 p.m., Dana Flight 9J402 from Lagos made an emergency landing in Abuja. The fully loaded plane encountered an unidentified fault, forcing an emergency landing.

The pilot was alleged to have announced in the middle of the flight that the flight could no longer continue for various reasons.
As of press time, passengers were still in the aircraft waiting for an alternative flight.
When the pilot addressed the passengers 25 minutes later, he stated that the emergency landing was performed for safety reasons.

“We had to return for our own safety.” “I appreciate your patience,” he added.
Meanwhile, passengers disembarked and boarded another sister plane bound for Lagos.
The management of Dana Air has said the emergency landing made in Abuja by its Lagos-bound aircraft was due to bad weather.

Vanguard reported that a Dana flight made an emergency landing in Abuja at 2:25 p.m.

The fully-loaded plane developed a yet-to-be ascertained problem, leading to the emergency landing.

The pilot was said to have announced mid-air that the flight could no longer continue for some obvious reasons.
However, in a statement issued by Dana’s Communication Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa, the company stated that the pilot was forced to land due to terrible weather.

“Our flight 9J 336 from Abuja to Lagos on the 23rd of February 2022 had an air return due to bad weather at the destination,” Ezenwa explained.
