Popular Nigerian singer, Simi, has revealed that contrary to speculations, she and rapper, Falz never dated.

In a recent interview with MTV Base Africa, Simi clarified that their relationship was strictly professional.

She further explained that the dating rumours were fueled by fans who perceived their exceptional musical chemistry as something more than just a working relationship.

“He [Falz] did a verse on my song, ‘JAMB Question Remix’. And I was like, ‘Ah! Me and this guy, there is a vibe there.’ So, we did ‘Soldier’, and everybody was like, the chemistry is so amazing.

“We never saw that. People bought what we were not selling. And we were like, okay, this is a strategy. So, we did ‘Chemistry’, the album. People gave us the name and the idea. We never actually came and say, oh, we are dating.” She said.

In another news, Simi revealed how she met the absolute love of her life, singer Adekunle Gold.

The mother of one shared the heartwarming story during a recent interview on Beat FM.

She disclosed that when she was involved in gospel music, Adekunle Gold was a huge fan of hers and sent her numerous messages on Facebook. However, she didn’t see those messages and didn’t know him at the time.

Yabaleft revealed that their paths eventually crossed at one of her musical performances when Adekunle Gold attended the show to watch her perform. After the event, he approached her to express his admiration as a fan.

According to Simi, her husband was very persistent in his pursuit of her as he explored every means to get her attention. She said she eventually became his friend because she was attracted to his kindness.

She said he asked her to be his girlfriend that same year, and the rest, they say, is history. The celebrity couple dated for five years and tied the nuptial knot in 2019.
